Western Europe - Italy

After Austria, we went to to the island city of Venice. Venice wansn't as romantic as everyone made it up to be. In fact, floating on raw sewage gave Venice a very distinct smell. We visited St. Marco's square (pigeon capital of the world), saw a glass blowing demonstration, took the obligitory gondola ride through the canals and ate a wonderful italian meal.

We spent two days in Rome. This city was truly amazing, there is so much history to Rome, I could have spent a week there and not seen everything.

Next we headed off to Florence, leather capitol of Italy. Florence was another beautiful city with many old buildings and churches.
