Castle Ravenloft

Surprisingly the party was not dead, however they wake up in a labratory, their disembodied heads in jars. An undead wizard questioned the party and guaranteed to give them back their bodies if they did a favour for him. He needed the group to travel to a wedding and retrieve the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind from the castle. The group agreed, and were transported through time to the wedding of Sergi von Zarovich.

The group appeared at the wedding as guests, they managed to blend in well enough. However, as the guests were gathering, Strahd (Sergei's brother) was walking the battlements with the bride to be, Tatyana. A heated argument between the two started, and Tatyana flung herself from the battlements to the mountainside hundreds of feet below.

At that momenet, Strahd sealed his pact with darkness, becoming a vampire and terrorizing the wedding guests, smashing the altar. This completed the fifth couplet.

Castle Avernus

When the group finally awakes, they manage to talk Azalin's imp into inadvertendtly freeing them. They crawl out of the labratory and explore the castle. In the cells Axel explodes on a trapped door.

The group manages to find and free the Dukkar, but he dies soon after. Hyskosa tells them they need to find the source of the Lich's Lifeforce and carry it to the tree at the end of the world. The group leads a group of refugees up large stairwell where they encounter Azalin, he kills most of the group and refugees before being divebombed and destroyed by the half-dragon, who kills himself as well.

The rest of the group flees up the stairs. There they find the crypt of Azalins son. A ghost rises and tells them a bit of history about Azalin. Next they find the lair of Azalin's mount (a shadow dragon). Mateos dies in the belfry fighting a banshee.

Finaly they find the phylactary room, and fight a guardian there. They manage to suppress the magic in the dragon skull and shrink it. Read books in library and find out about Azalin's former life.

Travel north to Il Aluk, passed through Viaki, met Yoghignus in Karg. Travel to Maykle, get ships to take up the Vuchar River, head to Nevuchar Springs. Lucius flies ahead to scout.

The groups met the elves of Nevuchar Springs and they the Shrine of Nevuchar, which turns out to be an ancient tree. At the base of the tree is Lucius' unconcious body, and Azalin waiting for them. The party fights Azalin at the tree and end up destroying him, at which point the mists have enveloped them all. Mateos dies, but re-emerges in a ball of light as Lumee.
