Personal Journal - Day #44

Dusk falls to night and I have finished communing with mighty St. Cuthbert. I feel so much stronger now! I feel like I can move mountains with the righteous might of Cuthbert within me! I think Aylward is jealous, ever since Cuthbert bathed us in his glory to turn the tide of battle. He insists it was Pelor, but I know better. Now he has even convinced others of this thing. Members of the shadow guild (much to Kuros' chagrin) and two new friends from somewhere named Cormyrr have decided to follow Aylward. They hang on his every word. They are like sheep... they will be slaughtered by their blindness.

Kuros and Balthazar have returned. I never thought I would be grateful for such a thing, but Balthazar is even more powerful now. He says he can grant me the power to fly so I may return to Homloch and save my people. I know they are waiting for me, perhaps barricaded in their homes. I'm sure Hans is doing all he can to keep the evil at bay until my return.

The Travel Logs of Lucius M. Volkskull

I have discovered something interesting. This armour and shield I found in the catacombs beneath the tower, they are from a member of the Falkovnian army! A captain no less! I went with Kuros to the local barracks, and the soldiers were falling all over themselves, bowing and scraping to me. I told them we were on a secret mission for Lord Dakov, that we required arms, provisions, and travelling papers for ten people. I also procured a new bottle of whiskey. It is passable.

Tonight I will sleep uneasily, but only because I am excited. Excited at the prospect of returning home and seeing my townsfolk again. With Dieter and Heinrich I will rebuild the church, purify the land. It will be as it was, and I will call upon St. Cuthbert to send us all home.

Now I must sleep, and keep an eye open for Aylward!
