Feast of Goblyns - Part 2. (The Good Doctor)

As the group left Harmonia for Skald, a storm begins to brew. The party arrives at the Old Kartakan Inn at night in a storm, and another meeting with Akriel is arranged. She is elated that the party has found the crown, but informs them that the woodsman is keeping a close watch on her, and that she cannot deliver the crown in person.

In the mountains of Gunarak, a storm is brewing...

The group heads off to Gundarak to the estate of Dr. Dominiani. Along the way they encounter a stranger with a French accent that employs a whip. He explains that he was guarding a mearchant caravan and his dealings with his employer fell through, he asks to join the group. In need of a capable warrior, the group allows Longthorne to join.

They arrive at the height of the storm, and take refuge in a nearby Chapel. The door slams behind them and they are trapped inside. 'Voishilaka' is whispered by an unknown force throughout the chapel. Simon is trapped within the coffin, and eventually they break him out.

The group enters the main keep and is greeted by the Doctor. The PCs relate how they retrieved the crown, and stay for the night. Dr. Dominiani leaves to attend a madman in Teufeldorf. The PCs set off towards Skald to deliver a letter written by Dominiani and intended for Akriel.

On the road back to Skald, the party makes camp for the night. In the light of the moon, a secret message is revealed implicating Dominiani (whose real name is Daclaud Heinfroth) and Akriel in a plot to overthrow Kartakass. As well, it is revealed that the Crown's true name is the Crown of Souls. That night, Simon does not return from watch.

In the morning he is found lying naked and covered in blood, his clothes torn nearby. The next night, baying wolves can be heard around the campsite, Simon is bound and bludgeoned to unconciousness. A great golden wolf enters the campsite and demands for Simon to come with him. Dromar puts up a valiant fight for his body but is defeated. Simon is stolen by the wolfpack.

Back in Skald, the party has a meeting with Harkon Lukas and his small council. They tell all about the crown, Lukas commissions the party to seek the Vampire Daclaud Heinfroth and destroy him. In the meantime, Lukas will research the origins of the crown

The Vampire's Lair

Returning to the Keep, the party confronts Daclaud and his minions. After a long series of confrontations, the vampire is hunted to his lair and defeated. Longthorne gets trapped inside a coffin (in the same Chapel) eventually the group breaks him out and the coffin distentegrates away into blood. Longthorne seems to be in a trancelike state, it takes quite some time to rouse him.

The group returns to Skald and talks with Lukas, he has discovered much about the crown's history. Lukas lends the group one of his best hunters, a Dark Elf, and asks that they destroy the devil they unleashed at the canyon of death. The party asks Lukas to find out what has happened to their companion Simon, who was apparently taken by Lukas's son.

The party returns to the Caverns of the witch Radaga, the devil is nowhere to be seen. There is also a large set of tracks leading south from the canyon, the party follows the tracks south...
