ur mission was to rescue the prisoners at any costs. After defeating the priests and jariliths in the temple we continued on our quest. From the information we received from one of the priests we knew we were on limited time and had to rescue all of them before they were sacrificed to Orcus.
As the traps along the way were many we decided to use travel along the ethereal plane. After entering the plane, we travelled along the edges of the wall along the path we had acquired from our mind probe of the priest. We trusted the information, however did find it a wee bit challenging to follow with some of the twists and turns in the corridors. We travelled down the shaft behind the altar and then through the Hall of the Undead, the Hall of the Guardian, the Library, which gave us a fright and then down into the lower chambers. We followed along the map until we reached the prisoners.
Along our way I observed some of the most hideous and grotesque creatures I had ever laid eyes upon. Guarding the prisoners were creatures so repulsive they just looked like darkness itself with wide gaping, hungry looking mouths covering their entire bodies. The sight of these creatures brought forth a shiver and eerie feeling right into the very core of my body. In the library, as we travelled it felt like we were being watched by a giant dog with glowing red eyes. Luckily, it did not see us, or at least react to us. The entire temple, the caverns and all around radiate evil. Just the thought of re-entering the temple brings a quiver down my spine. I can still feel the dampness of the caverns inside my very bones.
We discovered the prisoners with relative ease and formulated a plan to rescue them from the depths of this evil. They looked ragged, frightened and hungry, some like they had been tortured continuously. The captives were scattered throughout the chamber and did not look well at all. The ones who touched me the most were what appeared to me to be a mother and two small children, both girls. They were weak looking, huddling together for warmth and could not keep the tears pouring down their faces. How did they end up there? Why did the town of Bloodstone send them as slaves? I thought the town was sending its healthy men, why would they send children? Even in a random drawing system, children should be excluded. The thoughts angered me greatly and lessen my trust in the people running the town. However, I pushed the thought to the back of my head and concentrated on the task at hand.
As we did not want the hideous creatures in the last chamber (Feyrs we suspected) to have an opportunity to impede our mission in any way we knew time was of the essence. To negate this factor we decided to each grab one of the captives run together and transport ourselves to the town of Bloodstone. As we prepared for this, we determined who we would each rescue and where we would meet for the transport. We decided it would be best to grab each of the prisoners and carry them over to the women and 2 girls that were huddled together.
